As I type, re-watching Magic & Bird: Courtship/Rivals on HBO. Outstanding. Third viewing...

You just summed up in one blog post why college football needs a playoff system like they have in college basketball.

Two reasons:

1. The scandals in the bowl games. A playoff system would eliminate this.

2. NCAA BBall.. no 1's or 2's in the final four? This is EXACTLY why college football needs playoffs.

I'm sure it will never happen, though... because as much as know it's a good idea, college football = big money. No one wants to pass up big money.
