Hawks and Hellboy

The Iowa-Drake game didn't do much for me. It was poorly played and poorly officiated. The Hawkeyes won because they were the lesser of two evils. UNI can technically win the mythical in-state title if it beats Drake twice later in the year. But anyone that gets worked up discussing which school has the best basketball team in the state this year needs to find a hobby.

I met Jeremy Hellickson for the first time Saturday night. He seems pretty easy-going. "Hellboy," as he is allegedly known, dropped the opening puck for the Des Moines Bucs games against Dubuque. I was initially struck at Jeremy's size - he can't be taller than 5'10" or weigh more than 170. But size has never been a great predictor of pitching prowess. Look no further than Greg Maddux.
